Jenevieve Aken is a Nigerian photographer/ Story-teller whose photography career started in 2010. Her work focuses on social documentary photography, images and representation, and often adopts self-portraiture in her artistic practice. She explores personal experiences and contemporary social issues of identity, sexuality, gender and social roles. Her works has been exhibited in museums and galleries across Africa, Europe, Asia, America and beyond.

She has undertaken an Artist Residency program with LagosPhoto Festival in conjunction with Neue Schule für Fotographie in Berlin, Germany in 2013, A residency at the Villa Lena foundation in Tuscany, Italy in 2017, And a residency at National Museum of Modern And Contemporary Art Seoul, South Korea in 2018.

In 2020, Jenevieve got awarded as a Winner at Wellcome photography prize “Hidden Worlds” Category. Miss Aken lives and work in Lagos, Nigeria.

Nneka Iwunna Ezemezue is a visual artist working with photography, graphics and video. Often drawing from personal experience, she investigates themes relating to culture, tradition, gender politics, environment and community.

She is a grantee of Art Moves Africa and Magnum Foundation Fund for her project Left Behind. Her works has been exhibited at the Crossing Compasses in Lagos and Berlin, David Dale gallery in Glasgow, Goethe Institute in Lagos, Lagos Open Range, Lagos Photo festival, Addis Foto Fest in Addis Ababa, Lagos Biennial in Lagos, Photoville Fence in New York, among others.

Her works have been published in books and websites such as Dienacht magazine, Journ Africa, British Journal of Photography, The Guardian and World Press Photo Witness - Four to Follow. A member of African Photojournalism Database and Women photograph, she was also a participant at The New York Times Portfolio Review, nominated for Joop Swart Masterclass, shortlisted for the Contemporary African Photography prize and a mentee of the Fast Forward: Women in photography.

Nneka lives in Lagos, Nigeria.

Rahima Gambo (London, 1986) is a Nigerian multimedia artist who came to artistic practice by working independently on long form trans media documentary projects. Currently, she explores the experimental narrative cartographies of “walking” as it intersects with documentary storytelling, embodiment, psycho-spiritual-geography, socio politics, urban environment and autobiography. Her work engages with the tools of documentary making and an expanded visual language that includes drawing, film,sculpture, installation and sound. 

She was recently named a FOAM Talent for 2020 and she was amongst the awardees of the Contemporary African Photography Prize 2020 and part of the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass, Goethe Institut Photographer’s masterclass in Johannesburg in 2017. She has completed fellowships with the Magnum Foundation, Open Society Foundation Documentary Photography, and the International Women’s Media Fund.

In 2019, Gambo founded “A Walk Space”, a mobile art space that explores the interdisciplinary intersections of the “moving” image through collaborations, exhibitions and workshops.

She has an academic background in journalism, gender, social policy and social sciences.

Taiwo Aina is a filmmaker and visual storyteller specialising in documenting real-life experiences and creating creative portraiture. She is based in Lagos, Nigeria and her work often focuses on societal issues that affect people's daily lives, with particular interest in women, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.

Her work has been published in various publications, including the New York Times, Guardian UK, Anabelle Magazine, the Africa Report, Panorama Nyheter, etc.

Emmanuelle Andrianjafy (b. 1983, Madagascar) lives and works in Dakar, Senegal. She graduated and worked as an electrical engineer in France before deciding to pursue photography in 2013. Between 2015 and 2017, she attended the international photography workshop Atelier Smedsby.

Andrianjafy’s project Nothing’s in Vain was the winner of the MACK First Book Award and Contemporary African Photography Prize in 2017 and was a finalist in the Aperture Portfolio Prize in the same year.

Her work will be shown at PHOTO 2021 In Melbourne, was exhibited at the 2020 Singapore International Photography Festival, Bamako Encounters (2019), the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco (2019), Lagos Photo Festival (2018), at the New Art Exchange in Nottingham, UK (2018), Photo London (2017), the Athens Photo Festival (2017), Addis Foto Fest (2016), and the Aperture Summer Open (2015).

Nothing’s in Vain has been featured, among others, in the British Journal of Photography, Radio France Internationale, CNN, American Suburb X, Contemporary And (C&), and Zum magazine. Andrianjafy has taken part in the events program of the Valongo Festival in Brazil in 2018, Unseen Amsterdam and Paris Photo in 2017.

Andrianjafy is currently working on a new body of work in which she returns to her native Madagascar.
